Huawei to Supply 3G UMTS Equipment to France Telecom

Chinese Huawei has become one of France Telecom's UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) equipment providers. Under the contract with France Telecom, Huawei is to replace Alcatel and Motorola in Romania and Nortel in Belgium as the equipment provider for France Telecom's 3G mobile network. Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia, however, remain the main providers for France Telecom.
